Online therapy is simply traditional counseling conducted remotely through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that is built specifically for healthcare.
It allows you to receive high-quality care from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
What You Need:
Reliable internet connection
A device with a camera and microphone (a smartphone, tablet, or computer works great).
A private, quiet space—a spare room, a home office, or even your car (if parked safely)—where you can talk freely without interruption or being overheard.
Limitations:
As a licensed therapist in Arizona, I can only provide therapy to clients who are physically located within the state of Arizona at the time of their session. This is a legal requirement to ensure ethical practice.
-
Insurance:
I am currently an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, Optum, and Cigna.
If you are covered by these plans, your out-of-pocket cost per session will depend on your specific benefits plan:
Copayment: This is a fixed amount you pay at the time of each session.
Deductible: In most cases, if you have an annual deductible that has not been met, you will pay the full session fee until that deductible is met. After that, you will only owe your copayment or coinsurance.
Please note: While I verify your benefits, it is ultimately your responsibility to know the details of your plan, including:
Whether you have met your annual deductible.
The exact amount of your copayment.
If you require a referral from your primary care physician.
Your primary responsibility will be your copayment or coinsurance, which is due at the time of service.
Cash Pay:
If you do not have health insurance, I offer a cash-pay rate of:
First Session: $160
Follow-up Sessions: $140

This is a very common question, and it's a great one to ask!
Your first session is designed to be a comfortable, low-pressure conversation focused on assessment and connection.
Here is what you can expect from your first counseling appointment with me:
Confidentiality Review: I will briefly review the limits of confidentiality with you—what we discuss is private, and the few legal exceptions (like harm to self or others) where I would have to break it.
Fees and Scheduling: We'll confirm your copayment (if using insurance) and ensure your follow-up session is booked.
The Presenting Problem: What led you to reach out now? What are the biggest struggles—anxiety, relationship conflict, or trauma symptoms—that feel most urgent?
Your History: We'll discuss your background, family dynamics, and any previous counseling experience you may have had.
Your Goal: What does "better" look and feel like? We'll start defining tangible goals for our work together.
The primary goal of this first appointment is for you to leave feeling safe, validated, and hopeful that lasting change is possible. You are in control and never have to share anything you are not ready to discuss.

The honest answer is: It depends entirely on your goals and the depth of the issues you are addressing.
Think of therapy as a car trip: the duration depends on the distance you need to travel.
1. Short-Term, Solution-Focused Work
If you are dealing with a specific current issue (e.g., a recent relationship conflict, acute stress, or decision-making dilemma), therapy can be shorter, often lasting 8 to 12 weekly sessions.
2. Deeper, Integrated Healing
If you are dealing with long-standing issues (like chronic anxiety, complex trauma, deep-seated shame, or lifelong relationship patterns), therapy will naturally take longer. Typically, treatment ranges from 6 months to over a year.
The Most Important Factor: Collaboration
You are always in control of the pace. We will regularly review your goals every few months to ensure you are seeing progress. It is important to remember:
You decide when to stop. We will work together until you feel you have achieved a lasting sense of peace, strength, and confidence, moving past surviving to truly thriving.
Once goals are met, you can choose to transition to less frequent "maintenance" sessions to solidify your growth or end therapy completely.
